We’re in the depths of the internet more than we are in the back of our eyelids these days, a flurry of new artists releases, new voices, new ‘hot’ producers, yet less time to consume than ever before.
The first time we heard Frances’ voice we were sheep. 1.5million plays of her song ‘Borrowed Time,’ and yet we missed it? Hitting the swell that was rising, we were pleased to find the ripples of a young London artists creating from her shoebox sided apartment – containing a bed, a lamp, and a keyboard.
Digging deeper revealed a debut album in the making, two EP’s behind her, and an education in music at LIPA in Liverpool. With hits in her bank, writing sessions turned into meetings, meetings turned into songs, and within no time, the sound of Frances’ voice was floating through label offices all over London.
With accolades piling up, and her latest offering ‘Borrowed Time’ written alongside Howard Lawrence from Disclosure, it’s a rhythmic and electro-flecked track no doubt to land on our airwaves over and over.
Like all good things, they have to be organic – and Frances is just that.
